Looking for a fun and relaxing family get-a-way after the holidays?
Alive in the Mountains welcomes you!
Have you been thinking about taking a family trip this winter? After the Christmas holidays, we all need some spiritual relaxation, beautiful scenery and fun with the entire family. If you want to get away after Christmas, First Priority may have exactly what you’re looking for.
Studies show that very few teenagers indicate that the significant spiritual events in their lives include their parents. Do you want to make sure that isn’t true for your family? We would like to invite you and your family to Alive in the Mountains 2011. This spiritual retreat vacation will be held in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Dec. 27-30, 2011; just after the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holidays. This is a great retreat for you and your kids.
Alive in the Mountains’ sessions will be held at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center. Take advantage of our greatly reduced hotel suite prices including a hot breakfast each morning and a kitchen in your room. Click here for more information about pricing and lodging for families.
During your trip to Pigeon Forge, explore its beautiful and exciting sites. Take time to ski, ride roller coasters at Dollywood, visit beautiful Gatlinburg, shop at the Tanger Outlets or sight-see at the Smokey Mountain state parks. There is so much to do!

While having fun, your family will also enjoy morning and evening spiritual enrichment. This year’s theme is “First Book Challenge.” Without a working knowledge of Scripture, students lose their grasp on the Word of God, and this releases a chain reaction of anger, resentment, lack of purpose, and disappointment with life. They are more likely to steal, be physically abusive, cheat on an exam, use illegal drugs, and attempt suicide. The Bible is the change agent for this generation; students need a deeply held belief in God and His Word. This belief will serve as the foundation of their faith so that no matter what comes their way, they will stand strong. The Word of God now and always is speaking as it was in Samuel’s day, and someone is listening.
There is a generation of students who will not bow down to the prevailing trends of society or its relentless pursuit of materialism. They will no longer be lead astray by easy believe-ism but instead have embraced God’s standard of absolute truth and the pursuit of godliness. They have heard the call to continue holding on to the priority of Scripture, believing that the Word of God places salvation for all of mankind. They believe that the Bible is more than a guidebook or a textbook that it is the very portrait of Christ, who is our hope for eternal life. The Bible is unique because it unlocks the true identity, purpose, and destiny of our lives. It assures us that God has not left us here to grope our way through life but has given us His wisdom in His Word to be studied, believed, and obeyed. This generation speaks with conviction what the pages of Scripture declare that God is alive and have set their lives in motion by His Spirit; they have picked up His book and made it their First Book.
Are you ready for the First Book Challenge? We hope you and your group will join us for Alive in the Mountains 2011 as we study the truth. We will be challenged to embrace Scripture, God’s Word, for answers and direction for our lives. We will be challenged to stand strong and turn to God when we’re faced with life’s toughest challenges.
The line-up for this year's conference includes: Worship Leaders CJ Blount and Finding Favour; Illusionist Drew Worsham; and prominent communicators of God's word Dave Edwards and Brent Crowe will be our featured speakers during our five worship sessions.
We hope you and your family will join us on this journey and create a spiritual experience that will last an eternity!
Russ and Shari Hyde, from Shelby County, brought their entire family to Live in the Mountains last year. “The conference was life-changing,” said Shari. “Everyone was encouraged to answer God’s call no matter the cost. Our whole family was blown away and we’d love for every family and youth group to attend the next Live in the Mountains retreat.”
